In my 20+ years as a working potter, I have used and experimented with many different clays, throwing, glazing and firing techniques in order to highlight the potential and variations in each piece. Currently my focus is on wood-fired stoneware that has been thrown and stretched, where the fire and ash act on every pot in a unique manner.
I consider ceramics an artists’ medium and therefore my pottery is constantly changing, looking for the edge of what I can push the clay to do.
I want my pieces to evoke something in the person that views them, that connects with them personally. I don’t think the work speaks to everyone, how can it? But if you are moved by the pieces here, please feel free to contact me, or visit at a show, or my studio.
